Balancing act: Strong need for synergies in tax governance

Alongside legislative changes, there is also a strong need for training the revenue officers in both the taxation systems since both taxes are an integral part of business taxation. National tax academies at Faridabad (NACIN) and Nagpur (NADT) are already doing this, but the scope can be further widened, especially since GST is a new law.
